A Feminist's Guide to Equal Pay Day.

“Happy Equal Pay Day” – said no one, ever.

Tuesday, April 12 symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year. Basically, an equally-qualified woman performing the same work at the same level as a man would earn $.78 to his $1.

This is a ballpark ROUNDED UP, it gets even crazier when you move into minorities. If you’re Latina, your Equal Pay Day isn’t until Nov. 1. African American women have to work to Aug. 23. For Native American women, Sept. 13.

Oh, and Moms? Your Equal Pay Day is June 4 (source).

Crank up the Beyoncé tonight and have a glass of wine, ladies. You deserve it. 💪
